Big Week for James!

James turned 3 last week! I can't believe that my little guy is such a big boy now.  He is getting so much better at talking and putting sentences together, and I love seeing him learn and discover things on his own. He is currently obsessed with animals and their habitats...especially animals from Africa.  James has developed a very spunky yet sweet personality with a great imagination.  Everyday is a new challenge and I'm always impressed with the things he knows!

The day after his birthday was a day I had been looking forward to for a long time! Due to his speech delay, James qualifies for special services through the preschool at Barratt Elementary.  He even gets a school bus that picks him up! He goes three days a week, for three hours each time.  James was SO excited to go on the school bus and wear his new Thomas the Train backpack! It was surreal for me to see him leave.  He came back extremely hyped up, and I'm hoping that wears off a lit bit as going to school becomes more of a routine.  My little preschooler!!

Thanksgiving

A little late, but I thought that our Thanksgiving activities deserved a quick mention.  Chris, the kids, and I started the day off with a little dance party to bring in the Christmas season, and then I got to cooking! Danny had to work, so Elaina and the kids came over to our house to celebrate the day with us and Brooke.  Elaina cooked an AMAZING turkey, candied yams, and a great pumpkin pie.  I made mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and the stuffing.  It was a huge success! Elaina and Brooke came over around 3:00, and after eating we enjoyed the evening playing games.  It was very low-key, and very relaxing.  :)

Crawling Machine

Since the beginning of November, Lily has been very interested in crawling.  She is now extremely fast and just appears out of nowhere, typically right when I'm trying to close a door.  Her favorite thing is to follow James around with an expectant grin on her face, or to crawl around to the back door to suck on the blinds. It has been so much fun watching her explore! Just this morning I caught her crawling under the Christmas tree to play with the outlets in back.....naughty girl.

She is also quite the chatterbox, as evidenced here.
